Over the weekend, I took part as a vendor at an event called Arts in the Square in Oakville. It takes place every Saturday until October and the past Saturday was my first time as a vendor at the event. It is truly a showcase for local artists and crafters of handmade goodies. Held in the fresh (rather hot and stifling, to be honest, last Saturday) air, it offers an opportunity to peruse the work of local artists, do a little shopping and listen to some live music.

My Table |
I had a great day. i not only spread a little more "handmade soap love" but I also looked at art, spoke to the artists themselves and listened to some great music. As much as I had planned on ending the day with a glass of wine, 7 hours in the heat made me slight unsuitable to show myself in public on the way home. Instead I ended it with a glass of ice tea and a cool bath.
looking forward to my next day at Arts in the square on August 27th.
Your table looks so pretty! I love doing these typed of shows. Getting out there showing my stuff in person and not to mention getting to meet other great artists/crafters.
ReplyDeleteCool Tara...glad you did well and I love those kinds of art & crafts fairs. I love wandering around munching on something delicious, listening to the local musicians and just enjoying the day!!
ReplyDeletesounds like it was a good day.
ReplyDeleteYour table looks lovely. I just love specially prepared soaps!
ReplyDeleteyour soaps look wonderful! i think it's great that you keep putting yourself out there. this could turn into something big - or you could just keep having fun with the way things are.
ReplyDeleteI love those kinds of events! I'm the attendee who adores seeing and hearing and buying a bit of the beauty. So much better than a mall. Just read anushka's comment above--could turn into something big. Hope so! I'd be more than happy to go to a mall to get your goods. Adore the presentation of your table.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, your soaps look good enough to eat! I just love the special labels on them.
ReplyDeleteHi Tara,
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a good time. How did your soaps do at this show? Do you find outdoor shows any better or not compared to indoor shows? We have not yet ventured into outdoor shows, but we intend to be a vendor at one or two farmer's markets in the area next summer. We launched or business just last September. I like your sales display. We also really enjoy meeting other soap-makers, and other vendors in general. It's a great opportunity to learn, discover and meet interesting people.
